An art of dream and freedom. It is a parallel world populated by strange characters...

...There is no doubt that there is no greater satisfaction for an artist than inventing, inventing oneself, a universe. Bringing it to life, shaping it little by little. One's personal world that can be modified at any time, on which no one has a hold, a world apart. Bahram Hajou by the poetry of his stroke, his characters eyes stubbornly fixed on the viewer, as if to incite him to come and join them, was able to create a universe recognizable at first glance and like no other.

An encounter with a painting similar to a parallel world.
It is not only by his own way, through the expression of a technique, by applying pastel shades that Bahram Hajou manages to lay on the canvas this strange atmosphere, as if emanating from the limbo of an awareness steeped in fraternity. Behind the thin layer of paint, there is the fierce desire to not see the painting as a realistic art, but indeed as an art of dream and freedom...

The characters who go through his paintings, seeing you, seem to be suspicious, remain guarded, like these animals that never get too close to humans, probably knowing too well what it costs to get close to this uncontrollable and potentially dangerous species.
There is no fear in these elongated faces, only a question: who are you? Are you friend or foe? It may be an ideal world the artist describes to us here. Some sort of a lost paradise where duplicity is unknown, nor is cynicism, or all these things that spoil your life and that you carry within you, despite of you. It is a bit of a utopian vision of a better world, a view of the mind...

Through painting seemingly light, Bahram Hajou invites us to more humanity. The disarming looks of his characters... disarm, and immerse you in a painting without aggressiveness, the main discourse being a message of peace and fraternity.
